Mountaineer Lodge consists of two buildings with 78 spacious guest rooms in a variety of sizes and styles. The mountain hideaway offers a number of facilities to make your stay enjoyable. After an invigorating hike or an inspirational day by the lake, our whirlpool and steam room area offers the relaxing atmosphere that you desire.

Mountaineer Lodge is an entirely non-smoking property offering wheelchair accessible rooms, complimentary parking and an array of room amenities including wireless high-speed internet access. All the rooms in the Main Lodge have a microwave and mini-fridge. Our lodge has interior entrances, while the original building has exterior entrances for those travelers who prefer convenient access to their rooms. Most of the guest rooms have a beautiful view of Mount Temple, Mount Fairview or the famous ski hill, Mount Whitehorn.

The Mountaineer Lodge is nestled in a pine forest with tremendous views of Mount Temple and its summit glacier. The Lodge has the feel of mountain seclusion yet is easily accessed from the Trans Canada Highway and is a scenic 5 minute walk from a variety of services and shopping in the village of Lake Louise, Alberta. The mountain and glacier ringed lake that is the world-famous "Lake Louise" is only a short distance up the hill from the lodge.

With Lake Louise being centrally located deep in the Canadian Rockies, Mountaineer Lodge is a perfect base from which to take day trips into the mountains. From the lodge you can visit Banff, drive to the Columbia Ice Fields and Jasper National Park or access Kootenay National Park to the south and Yoho National Park to the west. The historic spiral tunnel on the Canadian Pacific Railway line near Field, British Columbia is an easy drive through spectacular mountain scenery. (Lake Louise is just minutes by car from the Continental Divide and the Alberta / British Columbia provincial border.)

Accommodations

Deluxe Queen: This room has TWO queen-sized beds, satellite television in-room coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, microwave and mini-fridge, and a full bathroom with hairdryer. This room type is located in our Lodge, first or second floor (no elevator), with interior access.

Junior Deluxe Suite: This large room has two queen-sized beds and a queen-sized sofa bed, satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, microwave and mini-fridge and a full bathroom with hairdryer. This room type is located in our Lodge, first or second floor (no elevator), with interior access.

Deluxe Standard Double: This room has TWO double beds, satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, and a full bathroom with hairdryer. This room type is located in our Original Building, first or second floor (no elevator), with exterior access.

Standard Junior Family Unit: This room has two double beds and a single cot (suitable for a child only), satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, and a full bathroom with hairdryer. This room type is located in our Original Building, first floor only with exterior access.

Junior Family Unit: This room has two double beds and a sofa bed, satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, microwave and mini-fridge, and a limited bathroom (no tub, shower only) with hairdryer. This room type is located in our Original Building with exterior access.

Superior Family Unit: This unit is one very large room with two double beds, two sofa beds, satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, microwave and mini-fridge, and a full bathroom with hairdryer. This room is located in our Original Building on the first floor only, with exterior access.

Superior Two-Bedroom Unit "A": This is a 2-bedroom unit with one double bed in each room, and an adjoining full bathroom with hairdryer. Each room has satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, and iron and ironing board. This room type is located in our Original Building, second floor only (no elevators).

Superior Two-Bedroom Unit "B": This is a 2-bedroom unit with one double bed in one room, and one double bed and a sofa bed in the second room. This unit has a shared full bathroom with hairdryer. It has satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, iron and ironing board, and microwave and mini-fridge.

Superior Two-Bedroom Unit "C": This is a 2-bedroom unit with one double bed in each room and a shared full bathroom with hairdryer. This unit has a common area with satellite television, in-room coffee and tea, a sofa bed, iron and ironing board, and microwave and mini-fridge. This room type is located in our Original Building, second floor only (no elevators).
